Woman with her arms up into the light; you know you want to be strong - you can, do it your way!

Losing muscle mass and bone density is REAL as we age.

Fluctuating hormones, shifting metabolism, loss of strength, and feeling like you're living in a totally different body might leave you reeling.

You may feel less vital, have lower energy levels,
and your balance and agility are just not what they used to be.

Maybe you've recovered from an injury or illness,
but it's been harder to get your strength back than you anticipated.

You've tried to work out on your own
(or at least thought about it)

but you hate to go to the gym and when you do
it leaves you feeling exhausted and uninspired

 and so you find yourself
turning back to the activities you like:
yoga, stretching, walking - it just feels better!

But what you do for your health now will determine what things are like for you in 10 years!
It's time to get on that strengthening journey, NOW!

Let me tell you more about how you can build strength
without sacrificing your time and well being.

You can be nourished, feel good, have fun
AND
BE STRONG

This series is for you if:

✔️You're a yoga student who cringes when you're told to move faster, push harder, or do more - but you still want to build strength, stamina, and overall fitness.

✔️You're new to yoga, but not new to fitness, and you're looking for a different way to get strong, and more resilient and flexible too.

✔️You value mindfulness and sensitivity. You want to exercise in a way that doesn't leave out your heart and soul.

✔️You want the benefit of a group program to help you with accountability and showing up for yourself.

✔️You're willing to put in the work, but you also love Savasana and the reward of replenishing!

This is not for you if:

❌Strength training for you has to include heavy sweat and at least a little pain.

❌You have a current injury that is causing you significant pain or limiting your movement.

❌You haven't exercised for quite awhile and you are pretty out of shape.

❌You find it uncomfortable to stand/walk for periods of 15 minutes or more, or you can't get up and down from the floor without significant difficulty.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to already practice yoga to do this series?
NO. This series is appropriate for people new to yoga.

💪

I already do yoga and try to include strength exercises in.
What will this class add to my practice?
Yoga is great for strengthening and there are many body weight exercises that you can include in your practice for these benefits.
What I've found, through research and study, is that there are distinct benefits to adding resistance training and more dynamic movement -
in this class we will be using light weights, resistance bands, with fewer
long holds and more repetition of movement into each sequence.

💪

What equipment will I need?
For this class you will need your usual yoga props which include:
mat, strap, 2 blocks, 2-3 blankets, and an eye pillow or small towel
PLUS
A set of resistance bands of different strengths AND
at least one set of light weights - 5 - 10# depending on your current strength level. Some people may enjoy having a couple of sets to switch between different exercises. 2 soup cans can also work for a very light weight.

A full equipment list will be sent you after you register.
Cost will vary depending on what you choose and how much of the equipment you already have. Alternatives will be offered so you may be able to use things you already have around your home.
💪
Do I need to be super fit?

NO. You will be given 2 - 3 options for each exercise so that students of varying fitness levels can participate.

💪

What if I have an injury?
If you have a mild, chronic discomfort or limitation, you may be able to still do this  class. However if you are having severe or acute pain related to a condition, this may not be the right class for you.
Please get in touch so I can give you a personal recommendation.

💪

I already do weight training, is this class good for me?
The intention in this series to bring a yogic approach to strength training. If you are satisfied with your fitness routines/weight training - you may just want to stick with that. But if you ever wish that your strength training was less fitness oriented or fed your heart and soul too, this is the class for you!
It may also be a great series for you if you want to practice yoga but because of time restraints you tend to skip your yoga in order to do other things to enhance your fitness.
